WHO?
Pearl Mayer is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, photography, writing, and fashion. Her practice explores how internal states intersect with inherited structures-belief systems, value frameworks, and embodied expectations that shape perception and identity.
Across mediums, the body functions as a site of negotiation: between intimacy and distance, control and exposure, devotion and autonomy. Rather than narrating personal experience, her work examines these tensions as systems-absorbed, performed, questioned, and reinhabited.
Moving between symbolic imagery, staged environments, and material investigation, her work resists resolution. Each piece operates as an attempt to exhaust a state, to understand it by giving it form, while leaving space for ambiguity and projection.
Her practice is driven by restraint, repetition, and attention to detail, allowing meaning to emerge through accumulation rather than declaration.
